DUJA delegation call on President

President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed today called upon journalists to uphold the interest of the country above all by remaining accountable to their noble profession.

The President made the call when an eight-member delegation of Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA), led by it's Chief Adviser and Vice Chancellor of DU Professor Dr SMA Faiz met him at Bangabhaban here today.
 

 President of DUJA Mahbubur Rahman and General Secretary Shajahan Shubho, Jamal Uddin Jami, Iqbal Hossain, among others, were present.

During the meeting, the members of delegation apprised the President of various activities of DUJA side by side of performing their professional duty.

They also drew attention of the President to the different professional problems.

Professor Iajuddin gave a patient hearing and praised the activities of DUJA in developing journalism in the country.

Reminding journalists about their responsibilities and obligations to the country and the society, he said greater responsibility and obligations are now also lying with the journalists as the media in the country has now been enjoying complete freedom.

Describing DU as the leading educational institution of the country, the President said any event on the university campus has great impacts. In this regard, he also called upon the university journalists to uphold objectivity in preparing their news on any events at the campus.
