President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed today attended the namaz-e-janaza of Professor Dr Mohammad Asaduzzaman, a former chairman of University Grants Commission and teacher of the Dhaka University (DU).

The janaza was held at the DU Central Mosque this morning.

Food and Disaster Management Adviser Dr AMM Shawkat Ali, Dhaka City Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka, DU Vice- Chancellor Professor SMA Faiz, Education Secretary Mohammad Mamtazul Islam and a large numbers of teachers, students and admires from

all strata of the society attended the janaza.

Military Secretary to the President Major General Mohd Aminul Karim, Secretary Md Sirajul Islam and Press Secretary Abdul Awal Howlader were also present.

Earlier, the body of Asaduzzaman was kept on the premises of Aparajeo Bangla on the campus to facilitate the colleagues and students to have the last glimpse of the deceased and pay respect to him.

Leaders of different student organizations, teachers association and socio-cultural organizations placed wreaths on
the coffin as a mark of respect to the deceased teacher.

Later, he was buried at Mirpur Intellectual Graveyard in the city.
