 Islam doesn't support anarchism: President

President Prof Dr Iajuddin Ahmed today said Islam doesn't support disorder and anarchism as it is a religion of peace, harmony, tolerance and humanity.

"The Great Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM), the concrete symbol of peace, welfare and kindness, during his life cherished and preached the teachings of Islam, and made it sustainable at the social and state systems," he added.

The President said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the fortnight long programme of Islamic Foundation, Bangladesh, on the

occasion of holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, 1429 Hizri year, at Baitul Mokarram National Mosque in the city.

Adviser for Law, Justice and Parliamentary and Religious Affairs AF Hassan Ariff addressed it as the special guest.

Religious Secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman and Director General of the Islamic Foundation Muhammad Fazlur Rahman also spoke. Renowned singer Mustafa Zaman Abbasi rendered religious songs.

Military Secretary to the President Major General Mohammad Aminul Karim, Secretary Md Sirajul Islam and Press Secretary Abdul Awal Howlader were present.

Referring to the initiatives of the Great Prophet, including establishment of social justice, women's rights, social equality, human rights irrespective of race, caste and creed, and balanced distribution of wealth, Prof Iajuddin said, "Islam teaches us sacrifices, instead of earthly pleasure."

"The ideology of Rasul Karim (SM) always inspires the human beings to the way of truth and justice for all times for multi- purpose welfare," he added.

Quoting a verse from the Holy Quran, Prof Iajuddin said the best ideal for the human beings is Rasul (SM), as a unique combination of spiritual and earthly life persists in him.

"Islam is still modern, vigorously life-oriented, fit for all ages and a centre for solving all problems, as it is the holy
bondage of harmony of eternal and earthly lives," he added.

The President termed the publications of the Islamic Foundation as revolution and praised it for its activities in
preaching, establishing and expanding the great ideology of Islam through publications, training for Imams and conducting mosque- based child education.
