The President underscored
the need for boosting the trade and economic
relations between the two countries.
In this context, he laid emphasis on
frequent visits of high- level officials and
holding trade fairs to promote each others
products. Turkey can also consider providing
duty and quota free access to Bangladeshi
products in its market.
Professor Iajuddin expressed his
satisfaction over the existing cultural and
defence cooperation between Dhaka and
Ankara. He urged for enhancing university
linkage programmes and sought the
ambassador's cooperation to increase the
number of scholarships for Bangladeshi
students in Turkey.
Referring to the present investment policy
of Bangladesh, he said Turkish investors
could get a good return from different
sectors in Bangladesh, especially in
infrastructure, tourism, composite textile
and power generation.
The Turkish Ambassador also sought
cooperation from the President to discharge
his duty properly and strengthen bilateral
relations between Dhaka and Ankara. He also
lauded Bangladesh's role in different
international forums.

General Mohammad Aminul Karim, Secretary of
the President's Office Mohammad Sirajul
Islam, Foreign Secretary Touhid Hosain and
Press Secretary Abdul Awal Howlader were
present.
Earlier, on his arrival at Bangabhaban, a
smart contingent of President's Guard
Regiment presented guard of honor to the
Turkish ambassador.
