Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor,
Members of the Syndicate and Academic Council,
Members of the Faculty and Staff,
Distinguished Guests,
Dear Students,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Assalamu Alaikum.
I am very happy to be here with you this morning
to share the joy of the significant moment at the
inaugural ceremony of opening the permanent campus
of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology
(AUST). On this auspicious occasion, I extend my
heartfelt congratulations and felicitations to the
members of Ahsanullah University of Science and
Technology for their arduous and collective
endeavours in facilitating the congenial
atmosphere of education. I believe this permanent
campus of the university will open up a new
horizon of imparting quality education to the
students and will provide friendly environment to
the university family.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As you know Bangladesh is endowed with huge
population of about 140 million in a small
geographic area. This huge populace could also be
used as the main driving force in the way of our
development process by making it more skilled and
capable. Therefore, it needs comprehensive
strategy and appropriate plan to turn them into
proper human resources. Globalization and
information technology, as you know, encompass us
at every nook and cranny of our everyday life. In
this situation we must deal with this properly by
using our skilled human resources in order to cope
with the world family. Therefore, the learning of
science and technological education is undoubtedly
a paramount importance to face the challenges of
the time. In this context, I call upon both the
authorities of private and public Universities to
come forward with state-of-the-art curricula to
impart quality and time-worthy education to the
students.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are keenly observing that a huge number of
students are rushing towards a limited number of
universities to complete the last four years of
their 16 years study before getting the first
degree. Therefore, an unhealthy competition is
occurring among the students at the time of
getting admission which is not at all desirable.
To face the growing pressure of the students, I
think, it needs to create more rooms for higher
learning at tertiary level. I hope concerned
authorities would deem this issue and would take
necessary steps in this regard.
As you know, at all the ages, educational
institutions are regarded as the sacred and
stately place of the country which contain
nation’s hopes and aspirations by putting its
collective endeavours. I hope University
authorities both Private and Public would
understand the tune of the society and would
uphold the image of the esteemed institutions.
Dear Students,
You are the valued citizen and the future
architect of the country. Country’s development
and prosperity mostly depends on you and the
nation expects a lot from you. Therefore, you have
to groom yourself as the worthy citizen of the
country so that you could be able to fulfill the
expectation of the nation.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am happy to learn that Ahsanullah University of
Science and Technology is maintaining a high
academic standard by its excellent faculty. I hope
the modern facilities developed at the new campus
would give Ahsanullah University of Science and
Technology further impetus to develop it into a
higher seat of learning. I wish the university a
continued prosperity.
With these few words, Ladies and Gentlemen, I
congratulate you all once again and wish a happy
and prosperous Bangladesh.
Allah Hafez, Bangladesh Zindabad
